Ordering a Website

1.  Interview for Information Intake.

We will first begin by asking you about your business. Are you trying to save money or generate revenue?  Are you doing this to be more competitive and add convenient features for your customers?  Do you offer a product, a service, or both? What is your target market? What are your expectations for the site?  If you don’t know the answer to all of these questions up front, that’s fine. We will help you answer them as we prepare a solution for you. We provide free consulting in this area, as we have been developing websites and e-commerce systems for quite some time and can give you a perspective as to what works and what doesn’t. The main part of the initial consultation though is obtaining information from you. The more information we have about your business and goals, the more comprehensive and efficient the site will be.

2.  Work Estimate and Sitemap.

Based on your interview and the information we take in, we will propose a package and a quote that fits your needs and budget, and if you approve, we will ask you to assemble any materials we’ll need to start working on your site.

3.  Assembling Material

For example, if you want to start a basic website, we will need any company graphics or logos you may have.  Professional services like doctors will often need pictures and biographies of the staff, forms for downloading as well as office policies and special educational materials.   To sell products online, you’ll need to start collecting pictures of the products you have, and work out an ordering policy (if you don’t already have one) to cover returns and shipping methods. If you don’t have all of this together or need some help, we’ll be glad to assist you.
4.  The Layout and Design

In most cases, we create a “mockup”. This is the “shell” of the site, how it will look, without the content. Once we’re finished, we show it to you for approval. If you wish to make any changes, we’ll perform those changes. Due to the experience we have designing websites, and the incredible communication between the design team and graphics department, we hardly ever design a template that our customers want major changes to. However, if major changes are required to make the site look how you want, that’s not a problem. We are committed to ensure that you are satisfied with the final product.
5.  Adding Web Content

Once the design part is done, we can start adding content. Most of our clients have information they want us to add, but if you need us to write some material, we offer that service as well. In the case of an e-commerce site, we continue to setup the shopping cart system and then review your payment options for your customers. If you already have a merchant account, we can link the site to it, so credit cards can be processed in real time. If you do not have a way to process credit cards and would like to, we can also help you establish a merchant account.

6.  Site Completion and Final “Walk-through”

When the site is complete, we will ask you to go over it to make sure that everything meets with your approval. We will help you finish any final steps that need to take place for the site to launch. Once you’re ready to launch, our team of quality assurance testers will test the site extensively to ensure there are no problems. After that, and at your approval, we launch!
